Bus Transportation Positions
The St. Tammany Parish School Board is seeking qualified candidates for bus driver positions. The District provides comprehensive training that meets all Louisiana standards required for licensure. An excellent benefits package is available for full-time drivers. Drivers earn an annual salary of $24, 950 plus operational expenses for those who own their bus. We offer the highest daily rate of pay in the state for substitute drivers.
Positions available:

  • Bus Owner/Operators – employee owns/purchases their bus
  • Bus Operators – employee drives a bus owned by STPSB
  • Substitutes – day to day drivers

Substitute Positions

Annual Salary: $9,630.00
Salary is adjusted according to effective date of employment

Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m.

Employees shall remain in their current position at their current site for two years prior to being eligible to request a transfer; however, if the time spent in the current position at the current site is less than two years, but the position the employee is requesting would provide a salary increase, then the employee may request the transfer to the new positon. Once the employee accepts a new position, the two-year requirement to be eligible to transfer shall commence once again.

Employees in a temporary position may submit a transfer for a permanent position.

An annual teacher placement fair is held to fill positions for the following school year. This event is by invitation only! An invitation is extended to applicants that have a complete, certificated application on file by March 5. Those that have a complete application on file after the deadline will be considered for vacancies that become available after the placement fair.

Salary will be based on degree and experience. Candidates must hold valid teaching certification. TRSL retirees may be subject to an earnings limitation.
